Every year my daughters, Jonelle Allen and Mrs Tiff Bryant ask me the same question. After thinking about it, I decided I'd give them my real answer: What do I want for Mother's Day? I want you. I want you to keep coming around, I want you to bring my grandchildren around, I want you to ask me questions, ask my advice, tell me your problems, ask for my opinion, ask for my help. I want you to come over and rant about your problems, rant about life, whatever. Tell me about your job, your worries, your dreams. I want you to continue sharing your life with me. Come over and laugh with me, or laugh at me. Hearing you laugh is music to me. I spent the better part of my life raising you the best way I knew how. Now, give me time to sit back and admire my work. Raid my refrigerator, help yourself, I really don't mind. In fact, I wouldn't want it any other way. I want you to spend your money making a better life for you and your family, I have the things I need. I want to see you happy and healthy. When you ask me what I want for Mother's Day, I say "nothing" because you've already been giving me my gift all year... YOU ! I want you. Love ya Mommy!!!! R - January 9, 2015 - Richmond, VA When tragedy hits it is too late to start training ourselves spiritually and emotionally. Instead, we must pursue the spiritual disciplines now. When we spend time daily in prayer, worship and Bible study, we anchor our mind and heart in God and his word. As a result, the Lord will build our faith, increase our knowledge and raise our level of spiritual maturity so that we're better prepared to face trials when they come. "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1:21 CDT - November 17, 2014 - Richmond, VA Thank you for the Old-Fashioned Gospel Broadcast. I trust and pray that this Ministry will grow and be a blessing to those in need. The combination of the spoken Word and the Word in song is a powerful and unbeatable combination. May you and your Ministry continue to be blessed and be a blessing!! TP - November 17, 2014 - Portsmouth, VA Thoroughly enjoyed today's broadcast. AMcM - November 17, 2014 - Carmel, IN I truly enjoyed the broadcast I just listened to. The beautiful hymns and the message of hope in how to have victory over the enemy will stay with me. Excellent ministry, reaching those who have access to the internet as a way to spread God's Word. Thank you for your obedience to the call of such a venture. MM-C - November 14, 2014 - Atlanta, GA If you find yourself sharing your gift in places and with people, that do not seem to want it, don’t continue to beat your head up against the wall. Release them. Let them have their own journey. Life is too short to convince people to be aware of who you are and the value that you bring. Love yourself enough to remove yourself from any situation where you are constantly making someone a priority... Anonymous - August 12, 2014 Great post. I was checking constantly this blog and I'm impressed! Very helpful info specifically the last part :) I care for such info a lot. I was seeking this certain information for a very long time. Thank you and best of luck. LHT - July 27, 2014 GM as We are preparing for corporate worship, I pray that our minds are fixed on the object and subject of our worship who is Creator God, not man! I become so concerned and grieved when I see almost on a daily basis so many of our preachers advertising themselves, with flyers, and pictures of them preaching at this conference and this revival and inviting you to come to hear them as if they are God themselves. Those of us called to preach , sing, teach or whatever must be humble servants and consider that what we say or do is from God, God's words spoken through his messengers. Finally, I ask that we consider that we the church exist for the sake of the world. After all the preaching to ourselves and exalting the preacher, have we made a difference in our communities? OR are we busy planning our next program, anniversary or revival? PLANNING OUR NEXT CONFERENCE AND REVIVAL RL - July 10, 2014 Famous whistleblowers such as Sherron Watkins of Enron have been hailed as brave souls who alerted the public to corruption and sought to protect colleagues from an unexpected downfall of a company. However, the corporate environment often values loyalty so highly that people who speak up about such problems suffer a number of personal, professional and financial turmoil. These consequences must be expected and prepared for when deciding to blow the whistle. CHJ - April 18, 2014 - McDonough, GA Too frequently I find myself in disbelief of my own life. I stare at my HS sweetheart/best friend/husband often and have to slap him just to make sure he's real! I put my hands on my children's chest just to feel their life beating beneath my palm. I am so grateful to God for seeing past my disobedience and sinful nature to think of bestowing these blessings upon me. My mind can't comprehend the sacrifice He made just for me. The unconditional love He has for me. God THANK YOU for being my Father, THANK YOU Jesus for dying on the cross for me. It's because of your mercy, it's because of your grace that I am redeemed!!! |
